Week Blog Review(Week 36)

Week Blog Review-Week 36

This week went past so slow, but had so many crazy events-positive by the way-and finally all the stress is over. The Piano Concert is finally over, it was great with only a few minor problems. I also completed my 'proposed" award speech for English which I was worry about from Monday to Wednesday. I have a lot of work for this week, mostly Geometry because I could not get to any of the Geometry work due to English and Piano work. In Spanish, my group completed all the filming we needed for our project, so hopefully we do good. P.E was only fun on Friday, we did yoga all this week and I did not liked it. However, Friday, the class basically did nothing. Us History was not stressful this week, but I did not do so well on the REACH test. Finally, Chemistry was the most confusing class of this week. In the end, my worries from last week was over. Also, my trip for Eco Club is going to be postponed until June-just as long as it's not cancelled I'm fine with that.

English Speech

Branches of Awareness and Self Motivation: William Carlos William

"Good evening everyone, and thank you for your time tonight. People I would like to thank for this award are the directors of the Poetry Society of America, publishers of Young Monthly, Eric Keith-the publisher of most of my poems, my family member, the high school I attended and finally Spencer Technology Academy. This award, the William Carlos William award, was created in honor of the writer for his influential and everlasting accomplishment in imagism. William Carlos William created poetry works such as Paterson and Kora in Hell, beaming with delineated scenes which brought the entire story to the mind of its reader. While his works have went obscured by T.S Eliot’s works in the 1920s, his works’ popularity would gain momentum in the 1950s. Now, the author himself is acknowledge to a high degree with this very award.

"My journey in poetry began a light and frivolous tread when I was ten years old in middle school, a special project sparked my early interests to write more poetry. It was in the month of October in 2010, an opportunity appeared before the sixth grade to display their stories, poems and other form of literature in a professional then white book. Within a week, I created the two poems Lily and Crow for the entry with drawn cover. The poems were short, ranging from five to six stanzas, explaining the proposed life of the dragons Lily and Crow separately. The poem Crow was attuned to the general themes of unfavorable happenstance and mental struggle of my poems from my adolescent. Ironically, the first two poems I created for an assignment in high school were not legitimately named until the following year and were more opened to interpretation. My recent poems experimented with simple concepts twisted to entitled closer interpretation for readers.
"From writing poetry, some fortunate writers are recognized for their art to the public by a award, honorable mention or their work displayed somewhere-not necessarily an education institution. An aspect of human nature is attention, acceptance and the desire of acknowledgment. All writers strive to have their output for society to be noticed by at least their intended audience, and thus their message would successful send. Occasionally some writers feel they are accepted by society for paying such a valuable contribute to the nation when their work is gifted a special fashion in display or achievement. However, this idea is a double-edged sword when the scenario combined with personal anxiety and low self-esteem create a false security of only feeling accomplished when one is acknowledged. Writers who endure this situation are usual young writers, teens or young adults like myself, who would feel they could not uphold themselves without consideration from others. This line of thinking can be a crucial and potential dagger on it path to the heart of true and passionate writing, as the writers would only write what other would want. All together, destroying one of the very purpose of writing: Self-expression of one own thoughts, feelings and idea. We all, writers or not, must accept there is at least one person in this world who opinion is against yours. In fact, there will be one person who would hate your work either out of spite or dissonance according to their beliefs. It does not matter, as writing is as I said self-expression.

Week Blog Review(Week 35)

Week Blog Review-Week 35

This week has been very exciting, exhausting at times, and productive. I know I complain or talk a lot about productivity, but it's essential to get stuff done. Also when I talk about being productive, it meant I had self-motivation to do work; which is rare now. Piano this week had major improvements, but I still need to practice a lot to master Mickey Mouse March before the piano concert which is this week. I master the Songs of Storms song, one of the three songs I wanted to master( going to practice the other two over the summer break). I'm hope I could pull it off. Geometry was pretty average this week beside a test which I think I only pass barely. In Spanish this week, my class and I finished reading the book mi propio auto and took a test on chapters 6-10. The teacher also gave the class a oral assignment of making a movie as a extension to the book or an alternative ending. English was a bit stressful because I had to get caught up on the chapters of The Great Gatsby, and now I understand the story and sub-plots. P.E was fun the majority of the time, the only times when it was boring was when I wasn't playing in the courts for Tennis. United States History was also average this week, nothing extravagant occurred. Chemistry this week was learning about enthalpy, and types of heat energy. After school, I went to a meeting for Eco club, the club I'm in. We discussed preparations, and items we would need for the camping trip we'll be having soon. Luckily, we had enough students/guardian volunteers would could carpool us to the camping site (it's great to have seniors in your club :3) Overall, a good week. But as I'm writing this, I'm stress about the performance for the piano concert! Wish me and my piano classmates luck.

Regret Story(Final Draft)

Regret Story: Final Draft

The horizon’s glaze signaled the end of dawn, the sun’s peach and orange rays painting the indigo sky with spring colors at five o’clock in the morning. Animals in the frigid windy city were up already, preparing for another cold February day similar to people of the town. Inside a small house on the Northside of Chicago, a young teenage girl awoken to the beams of the sun. Closing her thick purple curtains, the sixteen-year old grabbed a neatly-ironed shirt, blue jeans, and a towel before walking into the bathroom. The teenage girl exited the bathroom ten minute later dressed in a pink floral-designed shirt and bright blue jeans, and entered the kitchen.

“Good morning Cindy” a slightly older male said hugging the girl.

“Good morning Henry” Cindy responded before hugging him back.

The two were step-siblings by marriage, but considered themselves blood siblings. Cindy was a sophomore at Sojourner Truth High, and part of the school forest perverse club. Cindy is an actual junior volunteer of the Friends of Chicago River and Forest Preserver of Cook County. Cindy assisted many projects to help native species of Illinois and clean up the Chicago River. Henry was two years older than Cindy, and was learning the basics of advance computer design at a University just outside of Chicago. Their parents were in Ohio for their anniversary, but the step-siblings had enough money to sustain themselves until they arrive back.

“Getting ready for the trip so late?” Henry teased, receiving a nod from Cindy. The young volunteer was gathering ingredients for a simple sandwich.

“I wish they had chosen another day for this field trip” Cindy said, her voice hinting at her slight anger.

“Yeah, clearly the trip was rushed. Just relax, this is a perfect opportunity to relieve some stress” Henry advised, receiving a bit of laughter from the young volunteer. Cindy, now finished with her sandwich, placed the wrapped meal into a lunch bag along with a bottled lemon tea. Cindy began packing her book bag, but a music sheet fall out of her music binder, Henry picked the sheet up out of curiosity.

“Hey, is this the song that…”Cindy took the music sheet from Henry’s hand.

“Yes, this is the song Angel wanted me to play” Cindy answered calmly before placing the music sheet back into her music binder.

“Cindy, you will get to see Angel tomorrow. You guys could make up” Henry assured Cindy, lightly patting the step-sibling on the back.

“I know, but I-“Henry said before interrupting her.

“Please worry about this later when you come back home” Henry playfully flicked her nose softly, causing Cindy to laugh.

“Okay Henry” Cindy said. Within five minutes, the volunteer had her lunch bag in her left hand and her book bag against her back. With one final wave, Cindy left her house and walked to her high school.

Sojourner Truth High was among the top ten schools in Illinois, one of the hardest school to be enrolled in. With only six hundred students, the school specialized in all subjects and value important practices of diversity and acceptance among all students. Cindy never expected to be accepted to the prestigious school as the volunteer took an enrollment test for the rival school. Now, the volunteer was attending Sojourner Truth High for a second year. Cindy was very friendly toward whomever greeted her, but overall she was very shy. The volunteer found making friends who share most of her interests impossible, claiming she had been cursed to have no classmates in any of her seven classes with her key interests. Unfortunately, it appear all the students in all her classes only cared about sports, the latest action shows, latest hit songs and shopping. Cindy feel she could never talk openly to her classmates. However, Cindy remain determined to learn the trends and interests of her peers to know them better.

Cindy arrived at school to be greeted by most of her class for the field trip. Moments later, the teacher Mr.Wolfe arrived and took attendance. After everyone was accounted for, the students and chaperones entered a single yellow bus with the label “JB Bus Company: Safety First”. Cindy sat beside Paul Anderson, a quiet student in the class similar to her. Cindy did not mind, at least she did not have to worry about him chatting from across the walkway to a friend; a fear she had if she was paired with a gregarious person. Cindy simply placed her wonderful headphones on, canceling noise that erupted from the back and pulled out a novel from her bag. Cindy read a variety of poems and listened to array of music flowing into her mind. Once in a while, Cindy would glance outside the window to see the silver and chrome buildings or the lush green trees and vegetation as the bus rode to Springfield. Cindy enjoyed looking at the passing scenery, it assured her she was going somewhere and not idly wasting her life.

The bus traveled across Illinois, and Mr.Wolfe noted particular statues or structures to the students as the bus rode. Unaware of Paul’s interests, Cindy as surprise to

Cindy manage to spur up some chat with Paul. To the volunteer’s surprise, Paul enjoyed many video games Cindy was aware of. It was refreshing to find someone to talk who shared some interests. Eventually, Cindy retreated to her previous quiet state.

Cindy looked into the window beside her and felt a chill keep slowly into her spine. The bus is too close to trees, at least the road was….narrow” Cindy thought, noting the bus was traveling on a dirt path of some kind. Cindy tried to push worried thought out of her mind, before fear began to spark into her mind. In one swift to the left, Cindy felt the gravity shifted and her vision began flashing. Her mind began panicking wildly, and her heart began to shatter from pain caused by fear. Cindy felt like a tumbleweed in the bus as it fell over the edge, hoping broken glass did not puncture anything vital. Her vision blurs, and she enter her subconscious.  Cindy never expected her memories before her “death” to be so…bleak. It was just fun memories with loved ones, except for a small black speck. Suddenly, a string of memories emerged.

Saturday, February 27

Cindy sat patiently in a cotton seat of the vivid and elaborate theatre of Prenton Elementary School, scrutinizing the garnished walls and doors for the special occasion. Today, the small elementary school was presenting performances with collaboration of local high schools and colleges. Many of her piano classmates were performing in the formal event, and dressed appropriately in orchestra attire. Cindy, however, watched the performances with a music sheet in her hand.

Another promise bites the dust Cindy thought, her mind drifting to her seven-year old cousin Angel. The young girl begged the volunteer to play a song titled “Lu” for her at the concert, and after an entire week of pestering Cindy did the volunteer finally accepted the request. School, club priorities and procrastination formed the perfect recipe for failure to learn the song before the concert. Cindy snapped out of her troubled thoughts to see the last group if musicians stepping onto the wooden stage. Cindy concluded to apologize to Angel tomorrow

Yesterday, February 28

Cindy was in the kitchen, stilled by shock from the news given to her and Henry by their aunt. Angel’s best friend, Alex, died today from suffocating. More, the song Lu was dedicated to Alex and not Angel.  Cindy manage to hold back tears of anger and hatred against her own self. Cindy ruined Angel’s last day with Alex, and Angel’s gift to Alex. A cowardly monster.

Finally, her mind began to turn completely blank and she blacked out.

Cindy woke up hours later, her innominate left hand clothed in bulky white bandages. Cindy in minutes learn what happened. The bus veered into a large ravine due to ice on the exit of the expressway, causing the bus crash and many students injured.

“Who was hurt?” Cindy asked, getting only a vague answer from the nurse. It was only an hour of waiting did Cindy finally received the answer she wanted from Henry.

“Everyone on the bus was injured. Some more serious than others. Mom and Dad will be arriving soon” Henry lightly shook Cindy’s shoulder, a sign of assurance. A doctor entered the room beside Cindy’s parents, who embraced the teenage girl.  Cindy rocked in her chair with nervousness, listening to details about her left hand beside her family; the left hand is permanently damaged and would never recover.

To her own surprise, Cindy was more worried about the school than her own mangled hand. The next day, Cindy learned a few doors down were Augue’s room and of his condition. She never particularly know the student, always a loner like her. The volunteer respected his privacy and never bother him unless they shared a project. Just this once, Cindy would talk to Augie for just personal reasons, even if he couldn’t respond back. It took a few days, but Cindy manage to get permission from his mother to talk to the muted boy.

Such a shame. Hopefully he’ll recover from the coma. Cindy thought, as she slowly entered Augie’s room with a nurse.

Week Blog Review(Week 34)

Week Blog Review-Week 34

This week has been great and accomplishing compare to last week and maybe the weeks before. I was very productive this week. Piano and P.E this week was particularly fun, making great progress in Piano and P.E. In Piano, I finally learn how to play the first page of Mickey Mouse March and half of Song of Storms, but I still need more practice. I may also get a solo act in the upcoming Piano Ensemble, which is a bit of pressure on me. Geometry was not as frustrating as last week, I completed a quiz which I know I passed and completed this week's homework problems with ease. I believe I could boost my grade to a C by the end of the school year, the overall GPA for Geometry will not look so good. Spanish II this week was taking a test on Chapter 1-5 of mi propio auto before reading chapter six, seven and eight of the book. To summarize, the book is about a seventeen year old name Ben whose family is rich, but do not have his own car. Instead of a car of his own, Ben received a ticket to El Salvador to help rebuild buildings after two tornadoes devastated the country. In return, they will give him his own car. Ben works in El Salvador and learn about the culture of the small nation. English was interesting as we began focusing on writing our class-source novel, and began reading The Great Gatsby. My proudest moment in the class this week is my poem, which was ruined because I said "rapture" eardrum instead of the correct phrase rupture eardrum. P.E this week was a bit scrambled because of AC testing and rainy days. On Monday and Wednesday, we were on the tennis courts near my school. I really like tennis, it may my "miracle' sport. My school made swimming terrible, because getting back into normal clothes is a hassle and tedious.  I'm great at serving the ball in tennis, especially the overhand. I need to work on returning the ball. When the courts were too wet to safely play on, we were indoors either playing basketball or volleyball; I choose volleyball because I prefer the sport over Basketball. I finally know how to set the ball as I only bumped the ball before. My team( or the team I was on) won our second match yesterday(Thursday). I also contributed to some winning shots. US History this week was watching the Turn of The Century episodes on World War II and a movie centered around the horrors of World War II before discussing details about events of the war. Finally, Chemistry is more confusing then the past three weeks. My class is working on Thermochemistry, and the formulas are hard to understand when the teacher does not explain the equation. Overall, a good week.

Unit 14 Poem-Cacophonous

Unit 14 Poem: Cacophonous

 There once was a girl,

just in her preteens,

who feared sound.

An accident,

painful and violent,

in the eyes of the girl.

It disturbed her so,

she believed she was going to die,

and ready herself for the abyss to take her.

She suffered a rupture eardrum,

caused by a crash in the loud streets of New York City,

never to hear in her left ear.

Now the girl,

a young woman,

live alone in an alluring lush forest.

Away from the cacophonous sounds,

That took a piece of of her world.

Unit 13 Poem-Abstruse

Unit 13 Poem: Abstruse

She envision Blue

Rich waves crashing against the sand,

A feather of a Blue jay fall into the large sea.

She envision Yellow

Bloomed Dandelions on the fertile field,

The singular stripes of a bumblebee visible on the flowers.

She envision Orange

Burning rays from the Sun at Sunset,

The wings of a Monard butterfly blend into the brighten sky.

She envision Green

The thick luxurious forest just outside her home,

Moss thriving in the damp conditions of the woods.

She envision Brown

The outer layer of historic trees,

Squirrels created holes to live in the ancient trees.

She envision Red

Autumn leaves revealed the first days of Fall,

Petals of roses piled onto the brittle floor.

She envision Purple

Ripe grapes growing wild on vines,

Delicate crocuses grew just a few steps away.

She envision White

Snow rested on the brittle ground of winter,

Snow hares sleep under the cold blanket of the Earth.

She envision Black

The void of all colors,

And her vision.

She could not envision transparent,

A fleeting color,

The color of souls, shatter dreams, and empty shells.

Transparent was Abstruse in her eyes

A color presented everywhere,

Yet never recognized along with other colors.

Forever overshadowed

Only acknowledged in impure forms of nature

Only appreciated by the lucky few.

Cindy arrived at school early, really early. First they decide the date was on a Monday, then the departure time is six o’ clock in the morning! Cindy managed not to scream in frustration. Cindy waved at a few classmates of her United States history class and sat on a nearby bench. Ten minutes later, all of Cindy’s classmates arrived in front of the school building and the teacher Mr.Wolfe. “Alright, everyone here” Mr. Wolfe asked. Cindy thought back two days ago, her special planned show ruined due to her own nervousness and self-doubt. Or was it because of John’s words. Cindy memories quickly flashed to the threating words of John moments before her show. “You honestly think you could play just a complicated song without messing up. That’s foolish. I thought you know better than that Cindy” John scolded the volunteer.

“I studied and..” Cindy began. “No matter how much you studied, you always find a way to fail” The string of discouragement continued, before Cindy ran off. He’s…right Cindy sat in the rows of seat, listening to the announcement of her show canceled. Cindy’s mind began to drift deeper to the last few days. Alex, Angel’s best friend, died from a heart attack just a day before the field trip. Her show was going to be the last thing Angel and Alex would spend together. She ruined their last time together, like a complete selfish and cowardly monster. Finally, her mind began to turn completely blank and she blacked out.

Regret Story Thrid Draft

The Bus Crash

The horizon’s glaze signaled the end of Dawn, the sun’s peach and orange rays painting the indigo sky with spring colors at seven o’clock in the morning. Animals in the small town of Bloomington were up already, preparing for another cold February day similar to people of the town. Inside a small house on the Northside of Bloomington, a young volunteer awaken to struggling to see because of the sun. Closing her thick purple curtains, the young girl grabbed her a neatly-ironed shirt, blue jeans, and a towel before walking into the bathroom. The volunteer exited the bathroom ten minute later dressed in a pink floral-designed shirt and bright blue jeans, and went into the Kitchen.

“Good morning Cindy” A slightly older male hugged the volunteer. “Good morning Henry” Cindy responded, before hugging back. The two were step-siblings by marriage, but considered themselves blood siblings. Cindy was a volunteer of the local forest preserve group in Bloomington, while Henry was an apprentice learning about the basics at a University just outside of their town. “Getting ready for the trip?” Cindy nodded, before taking out all the ingredients she need for a sandwich. “I wish they have chosen another day for this field trip. A Monday of all days” Cindy said, her voice hinting at her slight anger.  “Don’t worry about the date of the trip. Focus on the trip” Henry advised. Cindy completed the sandwich and placed the wrapped meal into a lunch bag along with a bottled lemon tea.

Cindy began packing her book bag, but a music sheet fall out of her music binder, Henry picked the sheet up out of curiosity. “Hey, is this the song that…”Cindy took the music sheet from Henry’s hand.

Yes, and I done struggling with the foolish song. I already told her I’m not going to play that silly song and I even tried. Besides, I have too many events I need to study for” Cindy told Henry, who gave her a suspicious glare. “Did you really try? Because you have a terrible habit of giving up so easily” Henry pointed out. “I did tried. I spent hours on the song, but got nowhere” Cindy explained, her voice Henry scanned her face for any signs of lies. “Okay. At least talk to your Piano teacher before completely giving up” Cindy slowly agreed, concluded she would talk to Mr. Grey tomorrow. With all her supplies and lunch ready, Cindy leave her house to head to school. The volunteer arrive at her high school thirty minutes later, having just enough time to make it to her first period class before the tardy bell. The volunteer would leave English early to meet up with her US History class for the trip to Springfield, Illinois.  Before long, Cindy was among twenty students waiting for a single iconic school bus to arrive.

Cindy looked around to notice everyone chatting with their friends, or occupied by someone else, she was alone. Cindy was very friendly and helped classmates, but often felt lonely and alienated due to her interests. Everyone in all her classes seem to be interested in completely sports, recent drama and top television shows. Cindy was very different, she loved gaming and anime/manga. In short, Cindy felt she could never talk openly to her classmates, she does not know exactly what everyone like, and the volunteer had remained her “little world” until high school. Cindy, however, was willing to learn the topics and interests of her pear. Now, the volunteer was listening to her songs looking out of the window. Cindy enjoyed looking at the passing scenery, it assured her she was going somewhere and not idle wasting her life.

The bus traveled across Bloomington, Illinois and Mr.Wolfe noted particular statues or structures to the students as the bus rode. The bus made a quick stop at McDonalds for anyone to eat. A McDonald of all places!?! Cindy questioned with criticism. The stop was short and the bus began to move again. On the ride through Joliet, Cindy manage to spur up some chat with the student next to her. To the volunteer’s surprise, Paul enjoyed many video games Cindy was aware of. It was refreshing to find someone to talk too. Eventually, Cindy retreated to her previous quiet state.

Cindy looked into the window beside her and felt a chill keep slowly into her spine. The bus was too close to trees, at least the road was….scary” Cindy thought, noting the bus was traveling on a dirt path of some kind. Suddenly, one sad memory emerged.

“Cindy!” wined a six-year old girl. “No, I told you before. I can’t play this song!” Cindy shouted. “It was a lie, but I don’t have the time, energy or tolerant”. “Please!” the girl begged again, giving Cindy a music sheet. “I tried playing the song” Cindy explained. Cannot stand the lyrics and presentation of the song, it was atrocious. “Angel, I’m sorry. Maybe a different song?” Cindy asked, before Angel shoved the music sheet in her hand and ran out of the room.

Week Blog Review(Week 33)

Week Blog Review-Week 33

This week had been very revealing to my personality, and stressful at times. However, there were some good events that happened. In Piano, my class and I studied the songs Lightly Row(which I think I did great on) along with A Whole New World and Mickey Mouse March. For a concert coming up in two weeks, my class will be playing a few songs from our piano book and Disney songs. Geometry was the worse subject of this week, actually this entire school year. I did terrible on a quiz on Wednesday and I forgot to go to a important POW review, thus a guarantee for my POW to get a low grade. Sometimes I feel the POW has nothing to do with what the class is working on and just waste the students that could do for studying. In fact, teachers should try to create a 'universal' study schedule or concept so they'll stop nagging to study or be 'disappointed' that a student did not study. It's not easy to study for math, especially if you don't know the correct answer for the problem. Right now, I have a D in the class and now I'm so worry I might have to take that awful class again. Worse, my teacher one of the nicest Geometry teachers and I have no excuse. Spanish this week was okay, nothing to bad to report. Glad Ms.Piensa gone. English was good this week, despite me realizing my regret story for the book was not detailed enough. However, I now have a better and plot-worthy regret story. Yeah, my English class is working on a class-source novel and I a bit worried we might not make the deadline. P.E was actual my favorite subject this week, and that's saying something because on Tuesday we had to do the Pacer test which I hate. I guess I found the week fun because I'm excited for next week to practice tennis more. Yesterday(Friday), I learn I can hit a very good serve, but I need practice properly returning the ball. The class on Friday was also small due to most of the students in our class were either taking their AP Us History exam or practicing for the Dance show on the day. US History was good too and surprising. I got a 100 on my Chapter 22-23 test for the class, the second 100 I had ever since the first day of Freshman year. The surprising part came from watching "The Century" 's episode about World War II, and how brutal German and Japanese troops were against people of conquered nations. Finally, Chemistry was less confusing than the week before, and I can now solve some problems the teacher assigned.

The week was particularly interesting because the Eco Club at my school had a big party and I contributed some supplies for the party. Turned out I was the only one who supplied paper cups, paper plates and the sodas for the party. We also had chipotle, which I found good for the first time eating their food. Best part about the party, I got a free pass for paying for the membership fee because I donated so much food for the club plus a dry eraser board. Overall, decent week.

Week Blog Review(Week 32)

Week Blog Review-Week 32

This week has been equally surprising and a little stressful to the previous week. I found out on Monday that Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday were PARCC testing days, but the schedule for these days were different. I expected for PARRC testing to be over, but no. I did however enjoyed the extra time I had before arriving to school and shorten class periods. Overall, a good week. Sorry for just a short review.

Week Blog Review(Week 31)

Week Blog Review-Week 31(Spring Break)

Sorry for the delay! I should have this last week, but was distracted. My Spring Break was not special, beside a few trips to restaurants and shopping. The restaurants my family went to were Home Run Inn and Golden Corral, both of the experiences were fun. At Home Run Inn, I only ate one slice of pizza because I ate most of the appetizers my dad ordered: They were hot wings and garlic bread. The Golden Corral my family and I went to was not in Chicago and the ride their was a bit long due to technical difficulties. However, the trip was worth it despite me not eating a lot at the buffet restaurant. I also went shopping and eat out with my mom at my favorite taco on the same day. I found two great shirts and enjoyed three delicious tacos that day. Yeah, not a lot so I'll end it here.
