Week Blog Review (Week 4)

Week Blog Review (Week 4)

This week had good, great and stressful times, but eventually I hope that most of the stress will be gone once I create a study schedule. The main source all the frustrating and stressful moments of the week steams from my procrastination, but that is going a bit off-topic. Overall the week was good, I passed two tests and a quiz this week, all three of them I stressed about. Monday was unfortunately no a good first day of the week as I missed a bus before arriving at the bus station, and had difficulty with playing scales correctly in piano. I feel many students who have to take a bus or two each day to school and back home understand the annoying feeling of missing a bus when you was so close to the bus station. As for piano, I was having trouble positioning my fingers on the keys correctly as directed by the piano teacher. My piano teacher taught us during the second week of school that each finger will play certain keys. For example, the key C will be played by right and left finger 1(thumb). The piano teacher told me how to play the scales again on Wednesday and I doing fine now, just need more practice with playing the C scale with both hands simultaneously and playing G, D and A scale. Tuesday was only a little better, but the worse day of Wednesday. I hated afterschool on Wednesday because of Club Fair at my school; I'll explain the fair in the paragraph below. Moving on to the last two days, they was great. Thursdays and Fridays have been the best days of the weeks thus far. I had my Geometry and US History test on Thursday and received my score Today. I got a 98 percent! I was very happy I did, I was very worried that I may have failed the test or at least got a low score, but only two wrong. It also helped to have 5 extra credit points from Wednesday, that day was only terrible after school ended. Today I had my drivers' education test in which I believe I earn a great score on, the test was not as hard as I imagined it would be. I was going to have my chemistry test, but my chemistry teacher proponed the test for Monday. Friday must be the best day out of all the days of this week.

As I promised, I will talk about the ordeal. I love club fair, I do. Every year my school hosts a cub fair after school for students to choose any club they wants to join and participate in as a way for students to meet others who have similar interests. The horrible part of the club fair was that I was representing my club by myself and did not have the courage to boldly persuade people to join the club. Only seven people signed up for the club compare to the 50 new members nearby clubs had, worse that 3 of the new members may only have signed up for the event my club and I will be going to. The club I'm in is the American Chemical Society Club or ACS club, the club is obviously is based on the organization responsible for many safety science videos, science events and awareness of the importance of Chemistry. No wonder why only seven people , but it should not be that way. The club last year only did rock candy, tie-dye T-shirts and a volunteer event at the Museum of Science and Industry, not a lot of action for the club. It was very dishearten to just watch people just look at the board and walk off, especially when I was alone. The vice president was too busy with his other club bringing in members for their club, forgetting the reason why the game booth and the ACS club booth was close to each other in the first place. He was suppose to help me, but he didn't and my other partner was too occupied doing some important matter. The board itself only made matters worse as it did not have any pictures and was not a fancy as the other boards at the club fair. I had to spend a hour and 20 minutes of watching people ignore the board completely just because it mentions chemistry. Many people underestimates or do not realize what exactly Chemistry. From the disappointing situation I thought of many ideas to bring in many new members and make people who passed the opportunity wanting to join. The first idea is T-shirts bearing the ACS logo and our school logo. The second idea is contacting the city's ACS committee to cooperate with the people of the organization of any ideas, or projects they may suggest to us. The third idea is having the club do to more science events. We may participate in the chemistry events or just volunteer, the club will be helping the community understand chemistry and the importance of the study in society. In short, I am very passionate of this club and want this club to grow to be recognized.
